TTerri L Yeakley-1erri Lynn Wade-Yeakley passed from the love of her family into the arms of her Lord and Savior in the afternoon of September 25, 2014 at the home of her brother in Sunnyvale TX.  Terri was surrounded by family as the seventeen month battle with brain cancer ended and she joined her husband and mother in their eternal home. Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Cannon officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Terri was born March 17, 1955 in Paris TX to Lawrence Albert Wade and Betty Jo Norvell Wade.  Terri graduated from Paris High School in 1974 and received two degrees from Paris Junior College in 1976 and 1979 and then a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas School of Nursing at Arlington in 1981.  She received further training at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Institute and The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.

She began her nursing career at McCuistion Regional Medical Center in Paris in 1979 and then often worked weekends in hospitals throughout North Texas from Texarkana to Dallas.  In April 1993 Terri passed the national certification exam and was recognized as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Obstetrics and Gynecology.  She continued her nursing career as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Life Planning Health Services, Planned Parenthood and in the practice of her husband, Dr. Robert Yeakley, a Paris OB/GYN.

Terri finished her career at Community Health Service Agency in Greenville TX reporting to her practice on May 8, 2013 but finishing the day with the diagnosis of stage four brain cancer and a transfer to Zale Lipshy Hospital in Dallas.  The family expresses   thanks to the supervising medical directors at CHSA who recognized on that day Terri had an issue and took her to the Greenville hospital.

Terri was a long-time member of Baruch HaShem Messianic Synagogue in Dallas and an accomplished teacher of the Hebrew language.

Terri married her friend, Dr Robert Arlen Yeakley on March 11, 1989 at First Baptist Church in Dallas.  Dr Yeakley passed away on October 18, 2010.  Terri was also preceded in death by her mother on November 22, 2011.  Terri is survived by her father Lawrence of Paris, her brother Jim and his wife Kay of Sunnyvale, her brother Jerry and his wife Joy of Azle.  She is also survived by nieces Jenafer of Dallas, Jessica and husband Joshua of El Paso, Jackie of Azle, Julie and husband Josh of Weatherford and nephew Kristopher and wife Marilee of Orange Park FL; aunt Joretta of Mesquite and many cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and many many friends.

Terri Yeakley Altland Obit PicTerri Yeakley Altland passed away in Sunnyvale, Texas. Terri entered her rest on Thursday, Sept 25, 2014, the Biblical-Hebrew Day known as Yom Teruah (Rosh Hashanah) Tishrei 1, 5775. Leviticus 23:24 “Speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation”.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Victorious Life Church with Pastor Chad Lamb officiating with a gathering of friends and family prior to the service beginning at 9:00 AM. At 2:00 PM, Wednesday, a service will be at Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ken Cannon officiating with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. She was born on March 17, 1955 in Paris, Texas to Lawrence Albert and Betty Jo (Norvell) Wade.

Terri graduated from Paris High School in 1974. She graduated in 1992 from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas as a Nurse Practitioner. Terri was most recently employed with Community Health in Greenville as a Nurse Practitioner prior to being diagnosed with a brain tumor in May 2013. Terri married Dr. Robert (Bob) Arlen Yeakley, March 1989 in Dallas, Texas. They enjoyed the study of The Hebrew language, Scripture and Biblical history. They faithfully attended Torah Study on Monday nights in Paris, Texas and were members of Baruch HaShem Messianic Synagogue in Dallas where Terri taught Hebrew classes, she also taught Hebrew classes in Paris for many years. Terri was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bob on October 18, 2010. Terri married her best friend, Gary Altland on May 2, 2014. T

hey enjoyed their time together reading scripture and singing, attending Monday-night Bible study and Sabbath services with friends at Beit Elohim in Paris. Terri and Gary also enjoyed attending Sunday services at Victorious Life Church in Paris with Best Friend, Georgia Kelton. Terri shared Gary’s love of antique tractors and one of her last social events was attending an ‘Ice Cream Social’ for the Red River Antique Tractor Club in Hopewell and the Red River Tractor Pull and Show.

Terri is survived by her husband Gary; her Daddy, Lawrence Wade, whom she loved dearly and lived to take care of; Brothers James Albert (Jim) Wade and wife, Kay, of Sunnyvale; Jerry Wayne Wade and wife, Joy, of Azle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Terri. And a host of friends that will miss her dearly and look forward to seeing her again.
