Paris Police responded to Wal-Mart at about 1:05 A.M. on October 18, 2014 in reference to suspicious activity. It was reported that several subjects had been inside the store yelling for a female and the subjects appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.
Officers found two of the subjects sitting inside a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers spoke with 29 year old Layla Elrod of Bogata and found that Elrod was in possession of marijuana.

Officers were later notified by store employees that the other subjects were sitting at a table by the west entrance. When officers made contact with 33 year old Angela Denise Gaines of Garvin, Oklahoma, she was reportedly found to be in possession of a prescription pill bottle that contained several different prescription medications.
Due to the name of the patient that the pills had been prescribed to having been peeled off of the bottle, Gaines was arrested and charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of a dangerous drug.
A third person was arrested on local traffic warrants.
