Thomas A. (Tom) Weissinger, 76, of the Sylvan community, passed from this life suddenly Friday November 23, 2012 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday November 29, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Rev. John Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove Cemetery, where he will rest beside his beloved wife Peggy.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Thomas was born June 30, 1936 in San Antonio, a son of William Jacob and Jewel Daniel Weissinger.

He graduated from the W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi, and later received his Associate’s Degree from Paris Junior College. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force, from 1955 to 1959. Tom loved music, and during his Air Force career he played with a band. He was the steel guitarist for the Blue Diamonds, a band which gained prominence in Northeast Texas in the 1960’s and 70’s. Thomas retired from Campbell Soup Company after thirty-one years of service, where he was a supervisor in the maintenance department. He was a former instructor of Electronics at Paris Junior College. Tom was of the Baptist faith.

Thomas married Peggy Eloise Scott on December 28, 1955, in Corpus Christi. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2011.

In addition to his wife Peggy, he was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Justin Weissinger; and a brother, William Weissinger.

Known by his family as “Tommy,” he is survived by two sons, William Weissinger, of Austin and Donnie Weissinger and wife Adelaide, of Paris; two daughters, Lisa Walker and husband Robert, of Reno, and Sharon Bramlett and husband Patrick, of Nevada, Texas; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Helm and husband Gary, James Weissinger, Melissa Kilgore and husband Robert, Alan Michael Ray, Steven Walker, Erica Kuykendall and husband Cody, Dyllan Bramlett, and Cassidy Bramlett; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Helm, Taylor Helm, Anson Kilgore, and Addison Kuykendall; one brother, Robert Weissinger and wife Betty; four sisters, Helen Bodeker, Cora Freeman, Flora Boren, and Dorothy McEachron and husband Winn; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Named to serve as pallbearers are Steven (Bubba) Walker, Dakota Helm, James Weissinger, Cody Kuykendall and Caleb Beshirs. Named as an honorary pallbearer is Alan Michael Ray.

Robert Lealon Lambert, 78, of Paris, died at 10:45 AM, Sunday, November 25, 2012 at his home.  Inurnment will be held at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of cremation arrangements.

Mr. Lambert was born April 27, 1934 in Hubbard, Texas to Pete and Ruby Cox Lambert.  He was a graduate of Texas Tech and received this master’s degree in business from SMU.  He served in the United States Navy from 1956 until his discharge from active service in 1958.  Mr. Lambert then married Kay Sain in May of 1959 in Lubbock.  He was retired from The Southland Corporation and was of the Baptist Faith.

Mr. Lambert is survived by his wife, Kay Lambert of Paris; two daughters, Debra Rinehart and husband, Jimmy of Mesquite and Teri Graham and husband, Alex of Sandia, Texas; five grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
