65 year old James Lee Dillard, of Paris was arrested at about 11:53 A.M. on October 28, 2014 after it was reported that he had held a knife to his ex-wife’s throat.
The victim advised that as she was leaving work, she entered her vehicle where Dillard was apparently hiding in the back seat. The victim stated that Dillard grabbed her from behind and held a knife to her throat stating that he was going to kill her.
The victim was able to exit the vehicle after a brief struggle and received a cut on her hand. Dillard fled the scene on foot. Officers located Dillard and took him into custody in the 100 block of SW 16th Street.
Dillard was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon of a family member. Dillard was later transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
