EPSON MFP imageOlga Letta Adcock, 93, of Waxahachie, died peacefully, on March 27, 2013, at her residence. Letta was known to her family and to everyone as “Mamaw”.

She was born on February 9, 1920, in Ft. Worth, Texas a daughter of Edward Levi and Versie Lowe Ennis. On May 25, 1938 she married Elton Adcock. Letta retired from Kroger and enjoyed gardening and sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. Letta was a faithful member of First Assembly of God in Paris for a number of years before moving to Waxahachie with her daughter last year. She will be remembered as a kind southern lady who always had a smile and kind word for everyone and was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by parents, infant son, Kenneth Darrell Adcock, son-in-law, Rev. Michael Shields, sister, Mozelle Lemons, brother Felton Ennis, and twin brothers Rev. Paul Ennis and Doyle Ennis.

Letta is survived by her daughter, Judy Shields, and the joy of her life her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, grandson Brent Shields and wife Rachael, granddaughter Kami Allen and husband Jon, great-grandchildren Landry Shields, Makenna Shields, Maddox Shields, Peyton Allen and Josiah Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 30, 2013 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, with long-time friend and former pastor, Rev. Edwin Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Brent Shields, Jon Allen, Joel Parker, Dale Ennis, Duane Schaefer, and Arthur Lay serving as pallbearers. Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Friday at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home where online condolences may be sent by visiting www.fry-gibbs.com.


Patrick Steven Gaston, 62, of Paris passed away Tuesday March 26, 2013 at his home. Arrangements are pending with Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
