BOBBY JEROME TANNER 70, of Paris, passed away at 3:40 PM, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Bobby lost his battle with cancer after a courageous six year fight. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 7, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery with David McAllister providing the eulogy. No formal visitation hour will be observed. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Bobby was born November 27, 1943 in Magdelena, Socorro County, New Mexico the son of Ara Gurdine and Juanita Williams Tanner. He graduated from Powderly High School and married the love of his life, Sheryl Jo Shrum on August 20, 1964. He worked as a knitting supervisor for Munsingwear until they closed and retired from We Pack in 2005. Bobby served in the National Guard.
Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and faithful friend. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Sheryl Tanner of Paris; daughter, Sheila Renee Wilson and her husband Michael of Dallas; grandson, Benjamin Lewis McAllister and wife, Tiffany of Paris; great-grandchildren, Brianna McAllister of Princeton, Austin Parish and Mason Kelley of Paris; and a sister-in-law, Emma Duke and husband Bobby of Bartonville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Eddie Norman Tanner; and great-grandson, Kyle Woodrow McAllister.

ALFRED CARL SCHREIBER, 92, of Paris, passed from this life Thursday November 6, 2014 at Brentwood Terrace, where he had been for a few brief days. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday November 9, 2014 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Payne and Rev. Ben Reed officiating. Private burial will take place in the Long Cemetery in Powderly.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for hour prior to the service. Alfred was born May 17, 1922 in Lewisville, one of the five children born to William H. and Lena Thiede Schreiber.
He was a graduate of Lewisville High School, then attended North Texas Agricultural College. He was employed by Texas Power and Light Company for over forty-one years. He was a meter shop foreman, retiring in 1983. He was an Aggie to the nth degree. He was an avid gardener and loved to fish. He was a faithful believer and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
He married Clifford Payne on January 26, 1946 in Paris. After over sixty-eight years of marriage they were still love birds. This relationship brought them through the good times and bad, and love saw them through. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Hilda Sampert, and three brothers, Harold Schreiber, Willie Schreiber, and Egon Schreiber.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Carolyn Matchett, of DeSoto; a brother in law, Finis Payne and wife Nell, of Dallas; four grandchildren, Renee London, of Paris, Sue Ellen Eiland , of Stephenville, James Matchett, of Midlothian and Tracy Matchett, of DeSoto; seven great-grandchildren; Lindie Nelms, Amber Nelms, Christian McDonald, Dylan Stover, Jacen Stover, Travis Matchett and Kade Matchett; and numerous nieces and nephews.
