Ethan Carter, a senior at North Lamar High School, has been selected as a 2014-15 National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) Scholar.
Each year, the NHRP honors more than 5,000 academically outstanding students from the more than 250,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT®. Approximately 200 of the top-scoring PAATM students from Puerto Rico are also included.
To be eligible, students must be at least one-quarter Hispanic/Latino (based on the program’s definition) and achieve a minimum PSAT/NMSQT or PAA score for their region. Students with a cumulative junior year grade-point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher are designated as Scholars and those with a cumulative junior year GPA of 3.0 to 3.49 are designated as Honorable Mentions.
The NHRP is proud to honor these outstanding students and make their information available to subscribing colleges and universities. Selected students are encouraged to indicate that they have been recognized as a National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar on their college, scholarship, internship and job applications.
“Congratulations on this important accomplishment,” said Glenn Milewski, Executive Director of the SAT and PSAT/NMSQT Assessments. “We wish you continued success with your future educational endeavors.”
