Gladys Estelle Loyd, age 100, of Paris, died at 4:58 AM, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Brentwood Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services are set for 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Ramseur Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The body will lie at the funeral home Friday evening. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time prior to the service on Saturday. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Loyd was born October 25, 1912 in Paris to Walter and Effie Bryant Hargroves. She married Howard Lee Loyd on July 27, 1935 in Hugo, Oklahoma. He died January 4, 1979. She was a homemaker and oldest member of Ramseur Baptist Church.
She is survived by five children, Jerry Loyd, Barbara Stephens, David Loyd and wife, Gloria, Harold Loyd, and Virginia Hoffpauir and husband, Jerry; ten grandchildren, Rusty Sharrock, Brenda Sharrock, Sherri Jarrett, Michael Loyd, Jon Loyd, Rodney Loyd, Donnie Loyd, Tina Loyd, Rick Hall, and Tressa Martin; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Sara Bell, Isabel Underwood, and Vera Allen.
Pallbearers will be Chad Martin, Scott Cass, Daniel Jarrett, Rick Hall, Joedy Hedrick, Berry Johnson, and Justin Dotson.
