PEDC Board Member
The regular scheduled meeting of the Paris Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) is tomorrow, Tuesday, December 9th at 4pm in the Community Room at the Depot, located at 1125 Bonham Street.
Among the items on the agenda includes discussion and possible action on amending the PEDC bylaws pertaining to authorizations of entering into contract agreements. Regarding this item, the posted agenda reads, “Specifically the Defenbaugh & Associates contract executed by Rebecca Clifford, then PEDC Board Chair, and failure to comply with attorney recommendations of same.”
Again on the agenda is the invoice(s) for legal services from Jeff Moore, Attorney for Brown & Hofmeister, LLP. Mr. Moore was brought in to give legal advice regarding the above mentioned contract and resulting investigation and report from Defenbaugh & Associates.
The PEDC Board will also look at participating in the Texas Workforce Commission High Demand Job Training Program through Workforce Solutions of Northeast Texas.
A Memorandum of Understanding between PJC, Paris ISD, North Lamar ISD, Roxton ISD, Prairiland ISD, Chisum ISD and the PEDC to reimburse PJC for WorkKeys assessment fees for Lamar County High School Seniors will also be discussed.
Among other agenda items, such as possibly supporting Lamar County Days in Austin and the PEDC Board monthly meeting dates, members will also consider board member nomination(s) to serve as Assistant Secretary-Treasurer.
