Janice Fortenberry of Paris, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 2, 2012. Family and friends will gather at 6:30-8:00 PM, Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Fortenberry, Rev. Gary Newman, and Rev. Bill Felts officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery following the services. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
She was born on February 13, 1926 inHoney Grove,Texasto S.D. and Gladys Sivley James. She was married to Tommy Fortenberry on December 3, 1949. She retired from PISD and was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church of Paris.
Mrs. Fortenberry is preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Fortenberry, siblings, parents, and multiple close family members and friends. She is survived by her son, Rev. Mike Fortenberry and wife, Gency; her grandchildren, Cory Fortenberry and wife, Laysa, Cody Fortenberry and Cari Fortenberry; a brother, John James and wife, Ruth; and two sisters-in-law, Bea James and Edna James. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and an abundance of close family members and friends that she loved dearly and held close to her heart.
We do not grieve as those without hope, because we know that to be absent from the body means to be present with the Lord. Janice, also known as Jan, Mom, Mammaw, and Aunt Niece, loved Jesus and loved her family to the fullest. We honor her life and her memory during this time.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Cook, Bubba Coston, Freddy Daughtrey, T.L. Fitzgerald, Jim Lassiter, Glen Martin, Scott McDowell, and Eddie Pipkin. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Dolf, J.R. Oliver, Marion Parker, and Hank Tapley.

Henry Lee “Hank” Morgan, 75 ofParis, was called home to thekingdomofHeavenon November 23, 2012.
He was a local son, born in Paris, on July 7, 1937 to the late Francis and Henry C. Morgan. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Vincent. He is survived by his devoted wife Judy; brothers, Preston and Larry; sons, Derrick (Shelia), Sheldon (Kim); grandchildren, Ryan and Trent; great-grandchildren, Gabby and Josselyn; step-children, Leanne Stone, Keith Roberson and Eric Blease.
Hank was an American patriot, serving his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1953-1974, retiring as a Master Sargeant. He served in combat campaigns including Asian theatres, as well as multiple operational deployments throughout the world. Following his retirement from active duty he used his Master Electrician talents in the private sector as shop Superintendant at Shreveport Armature Corporation. He served his church as a Deacon/Sunday School Teacher at Airline Baptist Church in Bossier City,LA. After many transfers and moves worldwide, in the sunset of his life, he returned to Paris to enjoy the city of his childhood, later marrying his beloved Judy.
Hank was a very kind man, a true Samaritan, who loved his family, his country and was larger than life. This world has lost a truly good man and his departure leaves big shoes to fill. He will be missed.
