January is School Board Recognition Month and Paris ISD is joining other districts across the state to thank local leaders for their dedication and willingness to serve as advocates for children and public schools. This year’s theme is: A Work of Heart.
“Serving on a local school board is no easy task, especially in today’s climate of change and economic uncertainties. It’s a huge responsibility, one which has an effect on virtually every aspect of our schools,” said Paul Jones, Superintendent. “We encourage our community to help honor the contributions and dedication of these locally elected citizens. They work without pay and make decisions that influence and direct the education of our youth. Their board service is truly a work of heart.”
In recognition of their contribution to our schools, several students will serve a special meal for the trustees prior to the Jan. 12 school board meeting and campuses will present them with gifts of appreciation.
