David Kennison, 64 of Paris, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Funeral services have been set for Friday, January 15, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Pathway International Church of God with Rev. Mark Sanders and Rev. Samuel Evers officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. He is survived by his wife, Tina Kennison; children, Connie Lynn Sanchez and husband Gabriel, Dominic Kennison and wife Deedra, Katrina O’ Brien, Chance Kennison and wife Mindy; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; mother, Imogene Nelms; sisters, Linda Lakey, Kathy Ervin and husband Larry, Elena LaFountain and husband Randy, Sue Baker, Della Brantley, Carolyn Townsend, Angelia Dean; brothers, Albert Kennison, Donald Kennison, Jr. and wife Lisa, Sam Kennison and wife Vickie, John Kennison, Duane Kennison.
Preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Kennison; father, Donald Kennison, Sr.

Dale Vanderburg 89, of Chicota passed away at 4:05 PM, Monday, January 12, 2015 at Paris Regional Medical Center. A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Chicota Baptist Church with Rev. Rocky Burrow officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time on Saturday prior to the service at the church. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Warren Dale Vanderburg was born September 30, 1925 in Chicota, the oldest of eleven children, to Cliff E. and Mary Clem Vanderburg. He dedicated his life to Jesus Christ as a young boy and was baptized in the Red River. He served his country proudly during World War II in the US Army. Dale married Joyce Slagle on August 31, 1950 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He was a Fina Oil Company service station dealer for 35 years in Dallas.
Dale and the love of his life, Joyce shared 64 years together. They were inseparable and their love was the foundation for their family, children and grandchildren. He loved the Lord. He was an avid musician and singer. He loved gardening and took special pride in his onions that he grew every year.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Vanderburg; four children, Brad Vanderburg and wife, Lisa of Dallas, Kay Stephenson of Paris, Scott Alan Vanderburg of Chicota, and Pam Bethel and husband, Ben of Mesquite; nine grandchildren, Jason, Bree, Angela, Laura, Jordan, Haley, Kaitlyn, Chris, and Shandra; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; all ten of his siblings, Donald and Odessa Vanderburg, Valerie Sims, Bryce and Pat Vanderburg, Clifford and Gene Rude, Merle Stewart, Fay Ella and Thomas Allen, Carolyn and Winston Young, Sid and Carolyn Vanderburg, Jimmy and Jackie Vanderburg, and Lynette and Scott O’Brien; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to Dr. John Brooks and Dr. Ravi Valliban of Dallas, the staff of ICU at Paris Regional, family and friends for their prayers and support.
Pallbearers will be Winford Duncan, Reginald Horton, Chad Hensley, Kyle Hensley, Darrell Johns, and Rick Syring. Named as honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Vanderburg’s grandsons.

Faye Fleming Pyle, age 94, died on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Pruitt Healthcare in Covington, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Ken Cannon officiating. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Faye was born March 9, 1920 to Agnes Young Fleming and Lawrence Lloyd Fleming in Mount Joy, Texas. She married Clarence Eugene (Gene) Pyle on September 5, 1936. She graduated from Paris High School, Mrs. Hill’s Secretary School and took extended classes at Paris Junior College. She was an employee of Texas Power and Light Company before working for Dr. T.E. Hunt Sr., Dr. T.E. Hunt Jr., and Dr. Harold Hunt as bookkeeper and medical assistant. She worked for them until retirement. She belonged to the Sanctuary Class at First Baptist Church, PJC Alumni and Friends, Paris Community Theatre, Prime Time, Good Earth Garden Club, and several bridge clubs.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; step-father, Don Benson; her sister, Juanita Prewitt; nephew, Joe Prewitt; and a daughter, Marsha Martin.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Madding and husband, Pete of Covington, Georgia; three grandchildren, Michelle Martin and husband Bill of Austin, Chris Madding and wife, Michelle of Loganville, Georgia, and Kerri Britta Martin of Austin; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Mead and husband, Ryan of Houston and Logan Martin of Austin; and a son-in-law, Britt Martin of Austin. She has a niece, Jayne Prewitt of Austin and three great-nieces, Laurie Barr of Austin, Karen Acock of Sugarland, Texas, and Tejana Aguirre of Austin; and a great-nephew, Ansel Aguirre of Austin.

Kay Elton Kyzar,70, of Paris,Tx, having received Christ as his Lord and Savior, closed his eyes on earth and opened them in Heaven while a patient of Cancer Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 . When he went home to be with the Lord he was listening to his respiratory therapist give her near death experience and her account of Heaven. After his death many of the hospital staff sang “Amazing Grace” in his room with family and friends.
Kay was born on December 11, 1944 in Brookhaven, MS a son of Darce Elton and Myrtle Lee Dyess Kyzar. He was preceded in death by his father when he was 9 and his mother when he was 19. He was also preceded in death by his only sibling June Rose Martin of Houston, Texas.
Kay was employed by Kellwood Industries in Brookhaven, Ms. and moved with the company in 1969 to Idabel,Ok., where he met his future wife Martha Story. He and Martha moved to Paris in 1989 and was employed by Kimberly Clark as a shipping and receiving employee. He served with the National Guard from 1967 till 1971 and was a member of North Star 8 Square Dance Club. Kay enjoyed spending time with friends and family, loved music especially country and western, jazz and gospel, square dancing and country dancing. He also enjoyed watching football on TV and the Discovery and History channels.
Kay is survived by his wife Martha Virginia Story Kyzar whom he married on June 28, 1974 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma; brothers-in-law Willie Story and William Wilson; sister-in-law Betty Cole; an (adopted grand-daughter) Hayden Brooke Posey and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 17, 2015 in Paris First Assembly of God with Rev. Mickey Ellis and Rev. Ron Short officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 18, 2015, in the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery outside of Brookhaven, Ms.
Kay was a quiet man but a solid rock to those who knew him and depended on him. He was very respected, loved and will be missed.

Faye Irby Francis, 89, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Francis, the daughter of Titus Ardell & Daisy Mae Adams Irby, was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Cooper, Texas.
Faye’s career with Sears spanned twenty-seven years before her retirement. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Francis on June 23, 2003, a son, Jerry Lyndol Francis, a daughter-in-law, Vickie Lynn Francis, three sisters, Doris Barrow, Ruth Allen Ward and Sue Smith Wilkerson and one brother, Bruce Irby.
Survivors include a daughter, Rita Hailey of Hurst, a son, Larry Francis of Paris, a grandson, Jerry Francis & wife Shannon of Roanoke, two great grandchildren, Ryleigh Francis and Kaitlyn Francis, siblings, Lyndol Irby & wife Bernice of Denison, Wanda Bailey of Ft. Worth, Galen Irby & wife Jane of AZ and Weldon Irby & wife Jami of Campbell along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Patsy Carrol Dake, 63, of Cunningham, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 10:00 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19th, at Life Tabernacle Church in Cunningham with Geneva Norwood officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Cemetery.
Mrs. Dake, the daughter of Wesley William & Pinkney Nipp Chappell, was born May 24, 1951, in Paris.
She worked a number of years as a nurse’s aide and a cook. She then became the main caregiver for husband and mother.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Hershell Chappell and a sister, Jimmie Taylor.
Survivors include her husband, J. A. Dake whom she married on July 3, 1969, building forty-five years of family and memories, four children, Lloyd Dake of Port Arthur, Laura Allen of Port Arthur, Jay Dake & wife Angela of Port Arthur and Michael Dake & wife Joni of Cunningham, two sisters, Betty Page and Peggy Rhodes both of Paris, 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

Virginia Nell Barrick, 79, of Sumner, Texas, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015, at the home of her daughter, Linda McQueen.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with, Rev. Gordon Barnes, Rev. Wayne Blackshear and Rev. Lyn Holly officiating. Burial will follow in Tigertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Barrick, the daughter of Vernon & Lois Heltsley, was born Feb. 17, 1935, in Beech Creek, KY.
In 1954, she married David Barrick who made his career with the U. S. Air Force. He served our country in Korea and Vietnam. The family moved many times through the years. Wherever they were stationed Nell made their house a home. The family settled in Wichita Falls, as Nell always wanted to stay close to Shepard A.F.B.
She was a loan officer at a bank in Wichita Falls for many years. Following her retirement from the bank she was a caregiver. Nell was an avid flower gardener, having won numerous awards for her home & floral landscaping while living on several Air Force Bases. During her later years she found joy from her flowers and bird watching. She was a member of Breakthrough Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda McQueen & husband Lynn, a son, Martin Barrick & wife Gerri, grandchildren, Shanna Wilburn & husband Brent, Sam Barrick & wife Lauren, and Paige McQueen, great grandchildren, Lila Wilburn and William Barrick.
She was preceded in death by David Barrick, her parents, Vernon & Lois Heltsley, and a sister, Betty Heltsley.
Casket bearers will be; Sam Barrick, Brent Wilburn, Paul Puckett, Tommy Malone, Larry McQueen and John Smid.
