A total of 868 Superhero Artists from the Lamar County schools submitted drawings from 3-10 years of age for the second annual coloring contest for the National Children’s Study (NCS) South Region.  The contest celebrates the commitment of Lamar County families involved in the NCS, the largest children’s health study ever conducted in the United States, making them “Healthy Superheroes” to children for generations to come.

Of the 54 entries from Aaron Parker Elementary, the eight chosen were Caden Fore, Drake Miller, Aason Moss, Adriana Ashley, Alyssa Ottmo, Laynee Saunders, Colby Ralson and Connor Banks.  In addition to each child receiving a Superhero Artist certificate, each participating school’s PTA received 100 calendars to use as a fundraising opportunity and a $100 gift card was presented to Parker’s fine arts teacher, Courtney Malone.
