Charles R. McClure, Jr. 97, of Paris entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2015 at Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Health Center.
Funeral services are set for Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 2:00 in the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with The Rev. Rob Spencer and Rev. Bill Coleman of First United Methodist Church officiating. Due to the weather, the family will greet friends at the end of the service and will not proceed to Pleasant Hill cemetery where the burial will occur.
Charles was born on November 26, 1917 at the Sanitarium of Paris to Charles Roscoe and Rachel Haroway McClure. He graduated from Paris High School; Paris Junior College and attended North Texas State University, now The University of North Texas in Denton.
He married the love of his life, Dorothy Mason McClure on June 18, 1939, at the Mason family home in Brookston. They celebrated 71 happy years together, living in the High community for a number of years where Charles farmed extensively. Mrs. McClure died August 17, 2010.
They moved to Paris where they were very active in civic and social life. They played bridge with many couples; were members of the Paris Golf and Country Club and Big Supper Club and were active members of First United Methodist Church and The Couples Class. He served on most every board at the church.
His parents, his wife and a brother, Sam McClure, preceded Charles in death.
He is survived by nieces Mary Humble and husband Keith of Wichita, Kansas; Elizabeth Ann Holt McClure of Portsmouth, Ohio; Nephews Sam Miller McClure and Kass of Farmersville, TX, and Charles Roscoe McClure III and Gina. of Wimberley, TX. Niece Lila Jean Blackwell and husband Garry of Forney and nephew Commodore (ret) Jim Mason and wife, Martha of Rock Hill, South Carolina.
He is also survived by 18 great nieces and nephews and 23 great-great nieces and nephews.
Julie Anne Parker, 53, of Paris, died at 9:10 PM, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Christus Dubuis Hospital of Paris. Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Spencer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Julie was born July 13, 1961 in Paris to Robert L. and Dorothy Stevenson Parker. She graduated from Paris High School, Paris Junior College and received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth where she was a member of the Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority. She worked for the Texas Department of Aging and Disability in Arlington for over 21 years. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church of Paris.
Survivors are her mother, Dorothy Parker of Paris; her sister, Lynnda Jenkins and husband, Jarrell of Lubbock; her brother, Bob Parker of Houston; a nephew, Lance Lokey of Lubbock; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert L. Parker on April 15, 2008.

Geralyn “Geri” Lee Hoerres Engelhardt 61, of Paris, died at 10:55 PM, Friday, February 27, 2015 at Paris Regional Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Anthony Stoeppel as officiant. A Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Monday evening at the funeral home followed by a time of visitation with friends and family. Following cremation, inurnment will be at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Geri was born September 4, 1953 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Donald Henry and Patricia Jean Lange Hoerres. She graduated from high school and married Stephen Earl Engelhardt on May 3, 1975 in Milwaukee. After raising her children, she returned to school and earned her Associates Degree in Medical Coding from Paris Junior College. She was employed as a Medical Coder at Paris Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Engelhardt was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband almost 40 years, Steve Engelhardt of Paris; three children, Joseph S. Engelhardt of Dallas, Deborah A. Engelhardt of Arcata, California, and Eric W. Engelhardt of Paris; one brother, Michael Hoerres and wife, Lynn of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Kathryn Donahoe and husband, Mike of Dallas and Donna Clark of Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, David Hoerres.
Geri’s life was centered around her family and faith. She left this earth too soon, but left a big footprint. She was always there to lean on even when she herself was not always well. She enjoyed being married to her Navy sweetheart, Steve Engelhardt who was at her side when she passed away. Geri had an infectious personality and made friends like her Mom did, almost instantly.
Pallbearers will be Michael Hoerres, David Engelhardt, Deborah Engelhardt, Eric Engelhardt, Michael Donahoe, Jr., and Greg Donahoe. Named as an honorary pallbearer will be Joseph Engelhardt.
