Paul L. Miller, 72, of Paris, a loving husband, father & grandfather, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013, at his home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home and his family will schedule a memorial service at a later date.
Paul, the son of John I. & Georgia Scruggs Miller, was born April 23, 1941, in Jefferson, TX.
He worked in the oil & gas industry in Talco, retiring from the Kilgore facility. He was highly respected in all areas of his work.
On May 13, 1961, he married Carolyn Ann Powers, building fifty-two years of family and memories.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Jeff Miller & wife Diana of Edmond, OK and Les Miller of Tyler, grandchildren, Amanda, Paul, Toni and Moriah, a brother, Gerald Miller & wife Earlene of Bogata, two sisters, Velma Paris of Houma, LA and Sherlie Collins & husband Wayne of Royce City along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends including lifelong friends, Jim & Pat Gill. Dorothy Jo Willard Myers, 86, of the East Post Oak Community, died at 7:40 AM, Thursday, September 19, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 23, 2013 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00 PM, Sunday afternoon at the funeral home. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Dorothy was born March 8, 1927 in Pattonville to Barney and Mattie Bishop Willard. She married Milburn Charley Myers on October 2, 1945 in Paris. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2008. Mrs. Myers was a homemaker and worked as a caregiver for over eight years.
Mrs. Myers is survived by two daughters, Patricia Juanita Griffith and husband, Jimmy of Hurst and Pamela Joyce Myers of Austin; one grandson, Michael Wayne Griffith of Fort Worth; one sister, Juanita Garrett of Woodland; one brother, Lloyd Willard and wife, Emma of Blossom; numerous nieces and nephews; and caregivers who were her special angels, Gina Posey and Becky Brannan of Powderly. The family would like to thank On Call Health Care and Legacy Hospice for their wonderful care during Mrs. Myers’ last days.
Pallbearers will be Lloyd Willard, Travis Smith, Steven Long, Rodney Kraft, Carlton Smith, Terry Myers. Named as honorary pallbearers are Dr. Ralph Brown and Jimmy Melton.

Marilyn Marie Stephenson, 78, of Paris, died Monday September 9, 2013 at her residence. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct a memorial service at 10:00na.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal, with Rev. Michael Hurst as celebrant. She will be interred alongside her parents in the Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana.
Marilyn was born January 4, 1935 in Hammond, Indiana, a daughter of Frank Verdon and Emma Anna Baker Stephenson. Following high school graduation she attended college for two years, then headed to California where she worked in a small IBM department for five years. The military beckoned, and at the age of 32 she joined the Army. During her 20 years of service, Marilyn was posted from California to the Pentagon and three times in Europe. She served the U.S. Army as a Chaplain’s Assistant, and was honored with the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal, along with many other recognitions and ribbons. She was a member of Church of the Holy Cross Episcopal.
She leaves six nieces and nephews to honor her memory, including Claudia Day, of Grand Terrace, California; Leanne Harworth, of Prescott, Arizona; Steve Adams, of Bullhead City, Arizona; David Adams, of Santa Rosa, California; Diane Lawkowski, of Henderson, Nevada; and Debbie Whitcomb, of Oxford, Indiana.

Lynne “Mimi” Wright, 80, of Paris, surrounded by her family, entered Heaven’s Gates on Thursday, September 19th, 2013 at Paris Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, September 23, 2013 in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with PR Byers officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Lynne was born December 13th, 1932 in Vancouver, BC, Canada to Douglas & Isobelle Physick. She met and married the love of her life, Jim Wright, on September 4, 1954. Lynne and Jim shared 57 years of love and laughter until he departed this earth on August 8, 2012.
For many years Lynne did the bookkeeping for several McDonalds owned by Ted Tongson. Once retired she love to travel with her husband and her little guard dog Chihuahua Cocoa. Lynne always supported her grandchildren by attending every sporting event or activity that they were involved with. Lynne was preceded in by her parents, her husband, 1 sister, and a grandson Kristopher Byers.
She is survived by her children, Curtis Wright and wife Kathy of Sulphur Springs, Allison Byers and husband Ron, Kimberly Huff and husband Danny all of Paris, and Dennis “Buddy” MItcham and wife Deanna of Hastings, Nebraska. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Courtney Byers and fiance’ Preston Peugh, Happy Moore and husband Michael, Jennifer Huff, Dustin Huff and wife Kayla, Jonathan Huff and fiance’ Lauren Richardson, Seth Cruz and wife Kendall, Natalie and Mary Cruz and Courtney Valdes; six great-grandchildren and two dogs and a host of family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin and Jonathan Huff, Michael Moore, Preston Peugh, Ted Tongson and Mike Vaughan.
