Nona June Craig Brown, 93 of Detroit, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
Funeral services have been set for Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Leesville Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Leesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the church.
She was born in Lewis, Kansas on June 12, 1921 to Fred and Eva Craig. She married Allen Brown on May 9, 1944 in Lowell, Kansas. She was a member of Leesville Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was an artist up until 2 weeks prior to her death. She painted with her friends under Carol Bybee. She was a member of the Jolly Jems Ladies Group.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Killough, Zora McBride and husband Daniel, Allen Davis Brown, Jr. and wife Debbie, Craig Timothy Brown; grandchildren, Chris Weaver and husband Kevin, Kimberly Janeway and husband James, Kelli Roman and husband David, Kristi Taylor and husband Scott, Kandice Mitchell and husband Carl, Kathleen Barley and husband Michael, Michele Ganem and husband Trey, Kacie Barber and husband Clint, Melissa Jones, Keith Brown and wife Marilee; 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Davis Brown; brother, Robert Craig, granddaughter, Cynthia Brown and a grandson-in-law, Ken Jenkins.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Keith Brown, Kevin Weaver, James Janeway, David Roman, Scott Taylor, Carl Mitchell, Michael Barley, Trey Ganem and Clint Barber.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Women’s Ministry of Leesville Baptist Church or to the Gospel for Asia at 11474 FM 195 Bagwell, Texas 75412.
