Once again the board of the Paris Economic Development Corporation (PEDC) has called a Special Meeting to discuss and possibly take action on the letter sent to the PEDC board from Ricky Hayes on April 21, 2015 regarding the Defenbaugh Report.
The “Defenbaugh Report” was the results of a “forensic audit” done on the PEDC by Danny Defenbaugh (right) and his firm Defenbaugh & Associates.
In his letter, Mr. Hayes accuses form PEDC board member Rebecca Clifford of making false and defamatory statements about his company, Retail Attractions, L.L.C., that were then included in the “Defenbaugh Report” as fact. I
n his April letter Mr. Hayes states, “I clearly prove that allegations of fraud against my Company and me are false and were made by Rebecca Clifford, intentionally or at the very least recklessly. Such defamatory assertions were thereafter placed into the Defenbaugh Report, without investigation.”

The PEDC board will meet on Tuesday, June 2nd at 3pm in the Community Room of the Depot, located at 1125 Bonham Street. The meeting is open to the public.
The board will also convene into closed session to 1) deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline or dismissal of a public officer or employee or 2)to hear a complaint to charge against an officer or employee. Interim Executive Director’s resignation and future duties of staff going forward.
