The Paris City Council will be meeting in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2015. The meeting will be held at the City Council Chamber, located at 107 E. Kaufman Street in downtown Paris.
Items to be discussed on the regular agenda include:
- Conduct the first public hearing on an Ordinance dis-annexing 566.58 acres of land from an area located North and South of FM 1508/Airport Road in the City of Paris, Lamar County, Texas.
- Discuss the junk vehicle ordinance.
- Discuss and possibly act on information received about the contract specifications for TWDB Phase I Water Replacement System and work performed.
- Accept the bid and award a contract to Richard Drake Construction in the amount of $259,049.60 for rehabilitation of the Trail de Paris.
- Discuss the 2015-2016 budget for the City of Paris, and act on a Resolution calling a public hearing on the City Manager’s proposed budget for fiscal year 2015-2016.
- Discuss and act on a Resolution calling two public hearings on the proposed tax rate for fiscal year 2015-2016.
- Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, Consultation with Attorney, to receive legal advice from the City Attorney about pending or contemplated litigation and/or on matters in which the duty of an attorney to his client under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas, clearly conflict with this chapter, as follows: JS Baking, LLC (Skinner Bakery) Tax Abatement Agreement.
- Reconvene into Open Session and possibly take action on those matters discussed in Executive Session.
- Consider and approve future events for City Council and/or City Staff pursuant to Resolution No. 2004-081.
The meeting is open to the public and includes a Citizens’ Forum.
