hayes001Maxine Stewart Richardson Hayes died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at her home.  Funeral services are set for 11:00 AM, Thursday, April 10, 2014 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Cannon officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time prior the service on Thursday.  Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Maxine was born October 16, 1930 to Emma Lee and Willie R. Stewart in Brownfield, Texas.  The family lived in various places including California, Arizona and finally Honey Grove, Texas.  Maxine married E.A. Richardson in 1947 and they had two children, Donna Lynn and Stewart Edward.  She graduated from Honey Grove High School and attended various classes at East Texas University in Commerce and Paris Junior College throughout her 34 year career with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Bonham, Texas.  She married Olin Hayes in 1985 and they lived in the Dallas area and in Mississippi where she worked in various hospitals including St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

Maxine’s greatest passion was the love for her children and for her Lord.  She taught an adult Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church in Honey Grove for five years and while living in Mississippi had the opportunity to participate in mission trips to foreign countries.  She was a member and sang in the choir of the First Baptist Church in Paris, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Olin Hayes of Paris; daughter, Donna Stroud and husband Doug of Honey Grove; son, Stewart Richardson and wife, Paula of Honey Grove; step-daughter, Dana Marshall of Wills Point; step-son, Michael Hayes of Victoria; granddaughters Kristin McBride, Kourtney Lee, and Tonia Jimenez; grandsons Darin Stroud and Ethan Richardson; and several great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ethan Richardson, Darin Stroud, David Marshall, A.J. Jimenez, Sterling Lee, and David McBride.
