Linda Louise Allen Thomas, 72, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Pearson and Rev. Wally Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Thomas, the daughter of Frank & Katheryn Helen Towers Allen, was born Jan. 24, 1942, in Lamar County.
She graduated from East Lamar High School and Paris Junior College. Linda was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church where she served as secretary and pianist for many years. She worked in Medical Records at Lamar Hospital before beginning work for Dr. Mann where she worked for ten years. Linda then worked at Village Interiors and later for Sherwin Williams where she retired.
She was an avid gardener and loved flowers and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, R.W. Strauss, a brother, Roger Neal Allen, a niece, Michelle Ford and a great niece, Madison Allen.
Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Thomas, step-daughter, Michelle Singleton & husband Mike of Paris, brothers, Wendell Allen & wife Donna of Paris and Bobby Allen of Paris, nephew, Michael Allen & wife Donita and their children, Kelsie, Natalie and Zane, great nieces, Amanda Wilson & husband Ike and their daughter Emma and Ashley Ayad & husband J. P. and their children, Angelina and Alanee, and her beloved poodle, Emmy.
Casket bearers will be: Kenny Ford, J. P. Ayad, Ike Wilson, Michael Allen, Joey Bristow and Todd Thomas.

Audrey Faye Ausmus, 92, of Paris, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 25th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cemetery. No formal visitation is scheduled, however, those wishing may pay respects at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ausmus, the daughter of Ruse & Beaulah Davis Skidmore, was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Lamar County.
She worked a number of years at St. Joseph’s Hospital as a nurse before beginning work for Dr. Felty where she worked twenty-seven years. Faye volunteered countless hours at the hospital auxiliary and enjoyed bowling well into her later years.
She married James Conder, and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, V. C. Howard. Later she married Sam Ausmus, and upon his death Faye was once again a widow.
Survivors include a brother, Rab Skidmore of Deport, three sisters, Irene Oldham of Amarillo, Glenna Scott of Amarillo and Reener Hatcher of Childress, numerous nieces & nephews including Timothy Skidmore & his wife Tina and their sons, Ryan & Aaron, Faye was blessed with Keith Howard and Margaret Howard whom she thought of as her children. Keith & Margaret’s children, (grandchildren to Faye) Lalonna West and Shane Howard, and grandchildren, (great grandchildren to Faye) Rex West, Calli West, Drake Howard, Caroline Howard and Cooper Howard.
Casket bearers will be: Rex West, Shane Howard, Keith Howard, Timothy Skidmore, and Gary Morton.

Lanna Sue Jones, 58, of Paris, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 24th, at the United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Burial will follow in McDonald Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Jones, the daughter of Weaver Frank & Lois Wilcox Fowler, was born March 12, 1956, in Brownsville.
She attended the United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Breanna Freeland.
Survivors include a son, Wesley Freeland & wife Angela of Paris, a daughter, Alicia Lester & husband Jim of Paris, grandchildren, Brook Lester, Isaac Freeland, Katie Lester, Isaiah Freeland and Israel Freeland, a brother, Danny Fowler of CA, three sisters, Judy Cleveland, Paula Hunt and Karen Cleveland all of CA along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Kenneth Millsap, Stacy Cunningham, Ricky Sisson, Bill Smith, Wesley Freeland and Geoffrey Smith.

Pamela Kay Earley Luster, 53 originally from Clarksville TX, left in her sleep and awoke to be with her Lord, late Easter Sunday, April 20th 2014 in Paris, Texas.
Pam was an accomplished medical transcriptionist and pianist for many years in Red River County. She will be remembered best by the beauty, joy and laughter she brought to the lives of many others through her music and her amazing singing voice.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Vernon Earley (1923-2008) and Mary Virginia Holly Earley (1926 – 2008). She is survived by her two children Amanda Dawn Luster, of Anaheim, CA and James Michael Luster of Austin, TX and her two brothers Roger Earley, of Paris TX, and Steve Earley of Fort Worth, TX.
As per her wishes, there will be no funeral ceremony. She preferred to be remembered and celebrated in life than to be grieved over in death. If anyone would like to share any memories of Pam please post the memory on her facebook page – which will be active until June 15th. Thank you
