Reverend Glynn J. Vickers, 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Reverend Vickers was born January 14, 1930 to Myrtle and Rob Vickers in Kennard, TX.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Calvary U.M.C. Reverend Ben Read will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Rona; son, Gregg, daughter-in-law, Joy and two grandsons, Jake and Jon.
Glynn was a retired United Methodist minister of the North Texas Conference. He retired in 1994, returning to Paris to live out his retirement years. He served churches at Addison Methodist Church, Addison, TX; 1st U.M.C., Celina, TX; Briarwood U.M.C., Plano, TX; Oak Haven U.M.C., Irving, TX; Calvary U.M.C., Paris, TX; 1st U.M.C., McKinney, TX; Whaley U.M.C., Gainesville, TX and 1st U.M.C., Mt. Vernon, TX.
In retirement, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels in addition to mowing lawns for friends and neighbors.

Clyde L. Kester, 69, of Blossom passed away Monday April 21, 2014 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Buddy Greer and Bro. Brad Michael officiating. Burial will follow at Leesville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Friday from 7 until 8 p.m.
He was born July 4, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK a son of William “Willie” and Mildred Pierce Kester. He was a truck driver for many years and was known as his CB handle “Lucky K”. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
He is survived by children Alvis Kester of Paris, Charles Kester of Oklahoma City, OK, Jimmy Kester of Blossom, Grace Turner and husband Daniel of Cooper, Cindy Kester, daughter-in-law; grandchildren Ashlee Kester, Cayton Kester, Shelby Kester, Cheyenne Kester, Zoe Kester who he helped raise, Jaiden Kester, Jaci Kester, Gabriel Kester, future grandbaby Colton Turner; great grandchildren Dillon Kester, Brooklyn Kester, Madalyn, Kester, Billie Kester and all the kids who called him “PaPa”. He is also survived by 7 sisters and 1 brother and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Dalton George, Wyatt Phillips, Bud Thompson, Jeremy Kester, Jimmy Kester, Bo Kester, James Reynolds, and George Reynolds. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Wall, Rick Thomas and Lucas Arnold.
