Marlene Hutchings, 81, of Paris, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28th, at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Tommy Turner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 – 6 p.m.
Mrs. Hutchings, the daughter of Raymond Jeff & Mamie Louise French Jenkins, was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Oklahoma City, OK.
She was a member of First Baptist Church where she had worked in the nursery when her children were young. Marlene’s career with the City of Paris Water Department spanned twenty-five years before her retirement. She was a life member of PTA and belonged to the Beta Sigma Sorority.
Her son, David Scott Hutchings and his wife Diane, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, Bill, whom she married in 1955, children, DiAnna Flynt & husband Tom of Colorado Springs, CO, Raymond Steven Hutchings of Paris and Byron Keith Hutchings & wife Anita of Dallas, grandchildren, Kevin Flynt, Bryan Flynt, Hayley Hutchings, Hunter Hutchings and Sheree Nicole Hutchings, great grandchildren, Clara Flynt, Lindy Flynt and Carter Shed, along with a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: David Sain, Kyle McCarley, Wayne Moffitt, Dennis Smith, Ronnie Melton and Terry Slagle.

Lavern Turpin, 78, of Paris, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 28th, at Springhill Cemetery with Rev. David Gillean officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Turpin, the daughter of Garney & Maggie Gregor Weems, was born Dec. 31, 1935.
She married Dewey “Dude” Turpin on May 22, 1954, building fifty years of family and memories before his death. She was also preceded in death by brothers & sisters; G. A. “Jack”, Norris “Cook”, Annie, Louise, Allie, George, Bill, Pearl and Jesse Ray.
Lavern’s career with the Campbell Soup Company spanned thirty-five years before her retirement.
Survivors include her children, Ronnie Turpin of Paris, Shonah Melton of Sumner, Jimmy Turpin of Paris and Sherry Morphew of Paris, grandchildren, DeAna Heuberger, Randal Turpin, Daniel Melton, Jill Turpin, Ashley Morphew and Kayla Morphew, five great grandchildren, sisters, Laura Jaynes of Sumner, Dorothy Mann of Ohio and Jean Blanton of Ohio, a sister-in-law, Lois Weems of Paris, along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
