Juanita Davis, 77, of Deport, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Legend Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 12th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Wade White and Duane Hamil officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
Juanita, the daughter of Oscar and Mamie Rhodes, was born May 3, 1937, in Deport. She attended Deport schools, Paris Junior College and The University of Texas at Arlington. She was retired from teaching at Deport Elementary School.
On December 22, 1956, she married James A. “Sonny” Davis, building fifty-seven years of family and memories.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; James Rhodes, Ray Rhodes, Dwayne Rhodes, her twin brother, Juan Rhodes, and sisters; Fay Neal, Mary Norman and Ann Roberts.
Survivors include her husband, J. A. “Sonny” Davis of Deport, two sons; Jay Davis & wife Tina of McKinney and Dickie Davis and wife Lesley of Brookston, grandchildren, Brandon Davis & wife Tanya, Christopher and wife Katie and Candice, great grandchildren, Megan, Madelyn and Molly with a grandson, Ben, due in the next few weeks, sisters-in-law, Virginia Rhodes of Deport, Susan Davis, Dottie Bryant and brother-in-law, David Davis of Shreveport and a plethora of friends, many of whom were her former students.
Sonny and Juanita enjoyed many years of travel with street rod friends of the Northeast Texas Travelers. She loved bluegrass and gospel music festivals. She and Sonny attended the Cowboy Church.

Patsy J. “Pat” Gose, 84, of Maxey, passed away Friday, May 09, 2014, at her home. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 12th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Duane Hamil officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 – 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gose, the daughter of Leon & Lucille Gearheard Dauman, was born March 21, 1930, in Enid, OK.
On Nov. 26, 1952, she married Daniel N. “Dan” Gose, Sr., building 58 years of family and memories before his death on Sept. 11, 2011.
She was an RN and worked at a Paris hospital a number of years before beginning work as a teacher’s aide and librarian at Central School and then North Lamar ISD where she retired.
Survivors include her children, Danny Gose & wife Becky of Ovilla, Patty Crews & husband Mike of Maxey and Mike Gose & wife Dian of Maxey, six grandchildren, Cameron Gose & Maegan Walls of Maxey, Dustin McFatridge of Maxey, Cody Gose & wife Nikky of Paris, Shawn Gose of Bryan, Dakota McFatridge & wife Alanna of Maxey and Jamie McFatridge of Maxey, two step-grandchildren, Mike Crews, Jr. & wife Renee of Cooper and Blake Crews & wife Regan of Sumner, a great grandchild, Hagan Gose, three step-great grandchildren, Cheyenne Crews, Callen Crews and Kyle Womack, a sister, Doris Hilburn & husband James of Ozark, AR, special friends, Sarah George and Tammy Davis along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.

Ruth Elaine McDowell Bailey 91, of Joshua, Texas, died at 9:11 PM, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Town Hall Estates Nursing Center in Keene. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, May 12, 2014 at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Petty. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Ruth was born the twin sister of Joe McDowell to Joseph and Frances Laverne Shelton McDowell. She was a legal assistant for Tim Curry, the district attorney of Tarrant County, for 20 years. She married Floyd I. Bailey on January 26, 1945. He died November 21, 1999.
She is survived by her only son, Joe M. Bailey and his wife, Donna of Joshua, Texas.
