Remembering Dr. Seuss

dr seussAaron Parker Elementary students joined others across the country in celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2. 

In a reading celebration known as Read Across America Day, schools, libraries and communities participate by reading books written by Seuss. 

Among the many are Cat in the Hat, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, Are You My Mother, and Green Eggs and Ham

Pictured above: Aaron Parker’s Head Start class listened for rhyming words as their teacher, Katie Briggle, read books written by Dr. Seuss.  Afterwards the students made masks with red and white striped top hats depicted on the book cover of Cat in the Hat.

Cat in the Hat (AKA Parker third grade teacher Jeri Brakebill) made a surprise visit to Teresa Niblett’s kindergarten class in celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday.
