CHARLENE HOLMES, 90, of Paris, passed from this life Monday November 19, 2012 at Legend Healthcare Center. A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday November 21, 2012 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home with Keith Bollman officiating and Derald Bulls as eulogist.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.

Charlene was born April 20, 1922 in Davis, Oklahoma, a daughter of Eugene and Florence White Everett. She was a graduate of Paris High School, and was a member of the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ for over seventy years. Charlene worked as a Dental Assistant at Camp Maxey during WWII, and later retired from Paris Independent School District, after some sixteen years of service. She married William Howard Holmes on October 3, 1942 in Longview. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2005.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Scotty Holmes.

Charlene is survived by a daughter, Pam Schmidt, of Garland; four grandsons, William Schmidt, Correy Holmes, Shawn Holmes and Everett Schmidt; a great-granddaughter, Rowan Schmidt; and a daughter-in-law, Lorrie Holmes.

In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be made to the Boles Home for Children, 7065 Love Street, Quinlan, Texas

Friends may register in Charlene’s Book of Memories at www.starrettfunerals.com
