Carolyn Sue Jordan, 63, of Paris passed away Thursday, September 4, 2014 at her residence. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, September 9, 2014 in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. Chris Kelley officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.

She was born on March 17, 1951 in Greenville, Texas a daughter of William J. and Sybil L. Reed Bowman. She was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. On July 29, 1989 in Powderly she married Buford Ray Jordan.

Survivors include her husband Buford Ray Jordan; daughter Deann Baker of Paris; step-daughter Linda Towers of Paris; grandchildren Kesha Baker, Tommy Spears , Dominique Grimes all of Paris; step-granddaughter Nicole Towers of Galveston; great grandchildren Jordan, Nakiyan, & Ja’Kaiden all of Paris; sister Rita Owens of Kansas. She was preceded in death by a daughter Stephana Spears and brothers Tommy Joc Bowman, Billy Don Bowman, and Ronnie Lee Bowman

DANNY HALEY, 59, of Detroit, passed from this life after a lengthy illness on Friday September 5, 2014, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday September 8, 2014 in the chapel of Starrett Funeral Home, with Rev. Jimmy Haley officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Danny was born November 27, 1954 in Lamar County, a son of James Wesley and Gearldine Beard Haley. He attended North Lamar schools, then worked as a truck driver until declining health brought on his retirement.

Danny is survived by his wife Linda Haley; a daughter, Danielle Haley; three brothers, J.D. Haley, of Forney, Jimmy Haley, of Quinlan, and Darrell Haley, of Quinlan; a sister, Patricia Raymond, of West Tawakoni; an uncle, Royi Beard and wife Linda, of Paris; a brother-in-law, Tony Gates, of Terrell; and numerous other extended family members and friends.

Serving as pallbeaerers will be Mike Lawrence, Skipper Haley, Toby Haley, Chris Haley, Mick Haley, and Todd Haley.

Vickers0001Rickie Lee Vickers, 60, of Paris, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2014.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8th, at Hickory Hill Cemetery in Titus County with Rev. Bill Felts officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 – 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rick, the son of Lee & Laverne Jones Vickers, was born Feb. 23, 1954, in Harris County, Texas.

He attended Mt. Pleasant & Daingerfield Schools. His father owned & operated Sirloin Stockade where Rick worked alongside his father for a number of years. Later he worked at Earthgrains after owning & operating Rick’s Steak House.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Vickers and his mother, Doris Laverne Rhinehardt.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly Schumann Vickers, whom he married on Dec. 19, 1974, building 39 years of family and memories. His children, Kris Vickers & wife Shana and Sheena Leeson & husband Daniel all of Ft. Worth, grandchildren, Maddox Vickers, Kendal Vickers, Gavin Leeson, Ryann Leeson, Skylar Leeson and Cora Leeson, one brother, Thomas Vickers of OK along with  numerous friends.
