Two Speakers Come to Paris to Address Concerns over Nation’s Highways

The Lamar County Chamber of Commerce is hosting a presentation  regarding the nation’s highway infrastructure on September 22nd at 5pm at 8 West Plaza in downtown Paris.

The keynote speaker will be  author and speaker Dan McNichol of Boston, who has published four books on the nation’s highway system.

Mr. McNichol  has driven a 1949 Hudson car over 11,000 miles throughout the nation to highlight the outdated investment in our highway.

McNichol’s 1949 Hudson will be parked on the Plaza during the event to highlight that it is as “old, rusty and energy defunct” as much of America’s infrastructure system.

Lawrence Olsen with Texas Good Roads will also be speaking.

There will be focus on the need to invest in our highway system and will also discuss the upcoming statewide constitutional amendment, Prop 1, which will be on the Nov. 4 ballot.
