ShoresParis Police Officers responded to the 3000 block of Abbott Lane in reference to a security check at about 8:36 A.M. yesterday, September 16, 2014.

The caller advised that she was witnessing a black male attempting to break into a residence. The caller advised that she is a neighbor and observed a silver vehicle stop in front of the residence and the driver walk to the front door and knock for several minutes.

The driver then walked around the house looking into windows. When she observed the driver take the screen off the front bay window, the caller took her cell phone and walked towards the suspect taking pictures of the suspect. The suspect confronted the neighbor and after a brief verbal exchange, the suspect left the scene in the vehicle.

The investigating officer observed the photographs that were taken of the suspect and his vehicle. The vehicle was a silver Mercury that had a Car-Mart sign on front license plate.

The investigation found that Brian Marquis Shores had recently purchased the vehicle. At about 9:34 A.M., the vehicle was located in the 3900 block of Lamar Ave.

When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver stopped the vehicle and fled on foot. After a brief foot chase, Shores was apprehended and placed under arrest.

Shores was found to have two outstanding felony warrants revoking his probation along with evading arrest and criminal mischief and a misdemeanor theft warrant.

The charges for the original incident are still pending investigation.
