Gary Lee Cunningham, 71, of Arthur City, after years of battling his health problems, was called home on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, surrounded by his family and friends. He fought a good fight and had a strong will to stay with us forever. He loved life, especially the years he was able to load up grandkids in his Winnebago and see the country.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2nd, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Patrick Cannon officiating. Burial will follow in Tigertown Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Gary was born Oct. 10, 1941, in Ambia, Texas to Leroy Cunningham & Lois Edith Morrison Cunningham. He was married to Bonnie Hodnett Cunningham for thirty-two years.
After high school he served in the U. S. Army with the 42nd Battalion and was a proud member of the Freemasons for thirty-two years. Even over thirty years of service at Campbell Soup, Local 1229, of which he was president for fifteen years, and Local 540, as much as he loved the many people he tried to help and the company he loved, his greatest love and past time was his fourteen grandkids that he adored and traveling. He pioneered Local 1229 Federal Credit Union that later became the Employees United Federal Credit Union.
He was preceded in death by one son, Eddie Lee Cunningham, one son-in-law, Kenneth D. Brooks, and his sister whom he cared for until her death, Alta Livingston.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie, daughter; Eydie Brooks and her four sons; Blue, Kendall, Union and Conner Lee Brooks, son; Greg Clark & wife Kristin and their three children; Justin, Joshua & Jaidyn Clark, son; Jeffrey Clark & his four children; Bailee, Matthew, Madison and Mabrye Clark, son; John Cunningham, and son; Brandon Cunningham and his children; Jacob, Avery and Maddie Cunningham, three brothers whom he was very close to; Daymon, Rorry and Chris Cunningham along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Milton Fleming, Roy Darby, Gary Owings, Johnny Rodriguez, Felipe Mendez and Robert Fulbright. Honorary bearers will be: Justin Clark, Josh Clark, Blue Brooks, Kendall Brooks, Union Brooks, Conner Brooks and Matthew Clark.

Carole Anne Jackson, 70, of Paris passed away Monday, February 25, 2013 in Paris.
She was born on April 6, 1942, in the Slabtown Community, a daughter of Ralph and Beulah Howard Bolton. Carole retired after 31 years as an administrative executive secretary for the Department of Humans Services, graduated from DelmarHigh School in 1959, and was a member of Ramseur Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Rex Bolton, and a sister Kaye Reddell.
Carole will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and especially a loving and caring grandmother. She had a very outgoing and wonderful personality and was always considerate of others needs.
Carole is survived by her children Khristi Scott and husband Kevin of Honey Grove and David Jackson and fiancee` Kevyn Brasher; step-children Andy Jackson and wife Leanne and Judy Jackson; grandchildren Taylor Jackson, Evan Fussell, and Dylan Jackson; brothers Jim Bolton and David Bolton; sister Lynn Asbery; and special friends Jeanetta Robinson and Nina Corbett.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 1, 2013, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Myre officiating. Burial will follow in EvergreenCemetery with Evan Fussell, Dylan Jackson, Damon Asbery, Andy Jackson, Jack King, Terry Temple, and Brian Bolton serving as pallbearers. John Dee Faucett, 78 of Powderly passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Bonham VA Nursing Home. Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2:00 pm, Monday, February 25, 2013 at Long Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-6 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Faucett was born December 6, 1934 in Detroit, TX to Johnny Herman Faucett and Mattie Dee Griffin Faucett. He married Barbara Ann Brothers and she preceded him in death July 31, 1994. Mr. Faucett was a First Sergeant in the U.S. Army, working with Nuclear Weapons Maintenance, during the Korean Conflict and also in Indochina. He was a proud member of First Baptist Church in Paris where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Optimist Club.
Mr. Faucett was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister, one son, Barry Dale Faucett and a daughter, Paula Sue Taylor. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Ashmore & husband Scott of Paris and Michelle Draper & husband Doug of Mansfield; grandchildren, Cody Faucett & wife Lindsey of Denton, Daren Faucett of Paris, Justin Taylor & wife Jennifer of Pattonville, Jenifer “Jen Tay” Taylor of Dallas, Lauren Wilson & husband Chad of Sumner and Megan Crawford of Paris; great-grandchildren, Grady & Bailee Taylor of Pattonville and Corbin Wilson & Brayden McCormack, both of Sumner; a son-in-law, Leslie Taylor of Deport, along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mary Ann Bledsoe Short, 71, of Paris, died at 12:40 PM, Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Legend Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services are set for 2:00 PM, Friday, March 1, 2013 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Holt officiating. Burial will follow in West Post Oak Cemetery. Mary Ann was born September 25, 1941 in Paris to Jim Irman and Zeda Belle McFatridge Bledsoe. She married Jerry Short in 1995. Mrs. Short was a wonderful homemaker and mother and was a member of the Paris Church of God.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Short; two children, Dorothy Perry and Mark Harris; three grandchildren, Jeniece, David, and Richard Perry; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, and Dakota King, Meia Perry, and Dude Perry; two great-great-grandchildren, Bentley King and Brenden Maye; five brothers, Ronny Dale Merritt, Edward Bledsoe, John Henry Bledsoe, David Bledsoe, and Terry Bledsoe; and three sisters, Betty Lofton, Dorothy Burrus, and Maudine Bledsoe. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dee Harris, Jr. and Jimmy Dean Ray; and seven brothers.
Pallbearers will be Terry Keys, Derek Whitson, Donald Lee McFatridge, Robby Watkins, Jonathan Burrus, and Irman Bledsoe.
