Robert William Jamar 91, of Paris, died at 5:00 AM, Monday, October 13, 2014 at Stillhouse Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. A graveside service is set for 2:30 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Evergreen Cemetery with his brother-in-law, Chet Hilyer officiating. No formal visitation hour will be observed. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Robert was born January 7, 1923 in Soper, Oklahoma to B.J. and Mollie Legate Jamar. He graduated as salutatorian of his class from Soper High School and served in the United States Marine Corps. He married Edna M. Alexander on June 7, 1952 in Paris and retired from Westinghouse, later Philips Lighting, after 33 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Edna Jamar of Paris; one brother, Jack Jamar and wife, Haze of Paris; two sisters, “Tink” Russo and husband, Russ and Mary Hilyer and husband, Chet, all of Paris; numerous nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Phil Carter of Paris; a brother-in-law, B.J. Alexander of Maxey; a sister-in-law, Doris Alexander of Fort Worth; and a brother-in-law, “Hack” Blankinship. He was preceded in death by his parents: three sisters, Pauline Carter, Billie Jean Blankinship, and Patsy Jamar: and a brother-in-law, Joe Carter.

MARY IMOGENE “Jean” GIFFORD 81, of Paris went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 4:34 PM, Saturday, October 11, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services are set for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Deport. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday prior to the service. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Jean was born September 27, 1933 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Elmer James and Minnie Irene Poole Senn. She graduated from Hooks High School and later married Russell Allen Gifford on February 20, 1951 in Texarkana, Arkansas. He died May 16, 2013. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren. She was a member of East Paris Baptist Church.
Survivors are her four children, Allen Gifford and wife Bobbi, Kenny Gifford and wife Debra, Vicki Adams and husband Harold, and Greg Gifford of the home; grandchildren, Jeffrey Gifford, Lori Gifford, Marti Gifford Chumbley, Bryan Gifford, Kenda Gifford Fortner, Brad Gifford, Kevin Gifford, Jenna Gifford, Amy Adams Helms and Steven Adams; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty Garton of New Boston, Joyce McDonald and Patsy Nelson, both of Sherman; three sisters-in-law, Mary Gifford of Fort Worth, Nina Jo Gantt and Glenna Gooding, both of Paris; a host of nieces and nephews, and many, many friends; and Tiffany, Linda and Pam of Premier Hospice Care. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Lynn Senn; a great-grandchild, Stoney Lee Adams; and a great-great-grandchild, Blaine Booth.
Pallbearers will be Greg Gifford to honor his mother, Steven Adams, Bryan Gifford, Kevin Gifford, Brad Gifford, and Jeffrey Gifford.
