walk-for-freedom-fiThe Paris A21 A-Team will host a Walk for Freedom this Saturday, October 18, from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Downtown Plaza to raise awareness for the awful crime of human-trafficking.

The A21 Campaign is a non-profit organization that works to end human trafficking, abolishing the injustice in the 21st Century. According to the organization’s website, there are more people in slavery now than ever in history, with almost 30 million people in bondage across the world. The average age of a trafficking victim is 12 years old and only 1-2% of victims are ever rescued. A21 attempts to eradicate this global problem by prevention, protection, prosecution and partnerships.

Raising awareness is the first step towards A21’s mission to end human trafficking in our lifetime, and the ‘Walk for Freedom’ is an attempt to do just that, as ‘A-Teams’ from around the world will join forces tomorrow for the 2014 ‘Walk for Freedom’ (#WalkForFreedom).

You can join this global effort by joining the Paris team at the fountain on the Plaza tomorrow at 9 a.m. Participants are asked to wear plain black shirts.
