Doris Faye Burrows was welcomed by Jesus into heaven’s garden on June 27, 2013 after a full life of 80 years.
She was born on October 9, 1932 in Coryell County, Texas to Lewis Henry and Ada Belle Brown Healer.
She grew up in west Texas in a little town called Roby. After graduating high school she attended college in Abilene, Texas where she earned an Associates Degree in Business. There she met John William Burrows, Sr. on a blind date and later married on January 17, 1952. Her early years of marriage were spent as a military wife. Together they had 7 children each born in a different state and one in Germany. The family eventually moved to Arlington, Texas, better known as “The Farm”. It was there that many family memories were made.
She loved the outdoors and enjoyed caring for animals. She was a great cook and a professional gardener, especially her tomato plants and she loved purple flowers. She always knew what the weather was going to be like and she was an avid fisherman. She also loved football (especially The Cowboys) and enjoyed watching it with the guys.
