sellersScot Joseph Sellers, 56, of Paris, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 23rd, 2013 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, Mississippi. He was born on July 11th,1956 in Boulder, Colorado to Dean and Pauline Sellers.

Scot graduated from Salina High School South in Salina, Kansas in 1975. After high school he attended El Reno Junior College in El Reno OK and University of Oklahoma in Norman, OK. {BOOMER!!!}. He had worked for several trucking lines over the years in management where he made an impact with his realistic and personable ways. He loved Harley ridin’, Patty’s famous apple bars, Haystacks, muscle cars, high school football, college football, BOOMER! and ANY basketball…he loved to “talk sports”, country music and most of all….family. Whether it was a sports stat, remedy or a recipe you were looking for, he took joy in finding and providing the answer. He loved to joke and tease with his sarcastic undertone. He was a thoughtful man. Scot was such a selfless, gentle giant and spoke with a voice that was clear and concise, you knew by the way he spoke that his Family was his wealth.

Sellers was extremely loving and beamed with pride for his children, Daughter and Son in law, Heather Burchinal and husband Eric, of Reno, Texas; Sons, Cody Sellers and Kirk Sellers of Reno, Texas; Caden Sellers of Atoka, Oklahoma; and Granddaughters, Kylie and Keely Burchinal of Reno, Texas. He is also survived by his brothers, Gary Sellers of Las Cruces, NM; Tom Sellers and wife Patty of Salina, KS; Shane Sellers and wife Cindy of Brookings, Oregon; and sister Stacy Schoop of West Des Moines, Iowa. Nieces and Nephews, Dru Sellers of Austin, Texas; Jenay Sellers of Denver, Colorado; Kylie Sellers of Sarasota, Florida; Kelly Sellers of Hamilton, Michigan; Katie Sellers of Omaha, Nebraska; Haley Fox and husband Kyle of Overland Park, Kansas; Jeremiah Sellers of Eudora, Kansas; Summer Schoop of West Des Moines, Iowa; Tyler Schoop of West Des Moines, Iowa and Sydney Schoop of West Des Moines, Iowa as well as his many loving aunts, uncles and extended family.

Scot was adamant that people use the occasion of his passing to remember and celebrate his life. In lieu of formal funeral proceedings or viewing hours, we simply request that those who remember and cared about him share a special memory in his honor. James MannJames F. Mann, 79, of Paris, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Bright-Holland Funeral Home scheduled graveside services for 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 1st, at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Bro. Nolan Butler officiating.

Mr. Mann, the son of Floyd & Lois Patterson Mann, was born June 8, 1934, in Lake View, Texas.

James served in the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis at the height of the cold war. He was a dairyman for fifteen years before beginning his career at Kimberly Clark where he worked thirteen years before his retirement. He was a member of College Church of Christ.

His parents and a brother-in-law, Buddy Morgan, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Young Mann, whom he married on Oct. 2, 1953, building almost sixty years of family and memories, three children, Jamie Easterwood & husband Danny of Rockwall, Jeff Mann & wife Nicole of Aubrey and Sally Ruthart & husband Will of Paris, grandchildren; Chet Easterwood & wife Amanda, Jennifer McDermott & husband Danny, Rantz Gibson, Kayla Gibson, Ashley Mann, Hunter Fernandes and Mason Fernandes, a sister, Jackie Morgan of Paris, special niece & nephew, Mickey Reed & husband Gerald of Clarksville and Mike Morgan of West Columbia, great nephew & great niece, Jason Burress & wife Christina of McKinney and Letta Burger & husband Adam of Tyler  along with a plethora of friends.

Casket bearers will be: Bo Creighton, Danny Easterwood, Chet Easterwood, Jerry Fendley, Rantz Gibson, Will Ruthart and Pat Young. Mike Morgan will serve as an honorary bearer.

gilbert001Patsy Sue Gilbert, 70, of Paris, left this life to be with her Lord on Sunday June 30, 2013 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Starrett Funeral Home will conduct funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 3, 2013 at the Pathway International Church of God, with Rev. Sam Evers, Rev. Ray Evers and Rev. Troy Drake officiating. Burial will follow in the Chicota Presbyterian Cemetery. The body will lie in repose at the church for one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Pathway Church of God.

Patsy was born March 22, 1943 in Chicota, a daughter of Buster and Opal Vanderburg. She attended Chicota schools, and worked as a cook for Walker’s Café in Powderly for over thirteen years prior to her retirement. She was a longtime faithful member of the Pathway Church of God.

She married Bob Wortham in 1961 and he preceded her in death in 1978. She then married Kenneth Gilbert in 1979, and he preceded her in death in 2011. In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by three brothers; one sister; and a granddaughter, Jamie Wortham.

Suvivors include four children, Patricia Seat, of Paris, Richey Wortham, of Paris, Rinda Allen and husband Mark, of Sun Valley and Deanna Pendergraft and husband Stacy, of Sumner; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Junior Vanderburg and wife Ann of Chicota, Glenn Vanderburg, of Paris, Jackie Vanderburg and wife Kay, of Paris, and David Vanderburg and wife Cheryl, of Reno; three sisters, Barbara Wigley and husband Royce, of Arthur City, Virginia Williams and husband Don, of Irving, Nancy Ralson and husband Charles, of Reno; three very special friends, Wanda Bozeman, Mildred Gilbert and Johnnie Benedict; and a special former son-in-law, Billy Seat.

Named to serve as pallbearers are Randall McFatridge, Kevin Gilbert, Joshua Wortham, Chase Pendergraft, Daniel Gilbert and Brady Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers are William York and Gage Allen.
