Mr. Jerry Lee Asbery, 68, of Brookston, Texas passed from this life on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Jerry Asbery was born on March 20, 1946 in Paris, Texas to H.B. Asbery and Ruby Louise Carroll Asbery.
Jerry Lee enlisted in the National Guard on the 17th of July in 1964 as a cook where during his time served received expert qualifications using a M14 assault rifle. He received an Honorable Discharge on July 16, 1970 for his Honest and Faithful Service. Shortly after he began work at Campbell Soup, and later worked for Skidmore Trucking, B & B Equipment, Kimberly Clark, Waste Management, and numerous service stations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother John D. Asbery, and a great granddaughter Ali Brooke Cobb.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa Elaine Plunkett Asbery; daughter Jerri Ann Wilson and husband Mirl Deo, daughter Terri Lee Asberry Millsap and Tony Lamberson, and son James Dee Asbery and wife Jessica. Grandchildren include Chris and wife Amanada, Kayla, Zach and fiancé Allie, Taylor, Dusti, Dakota, Dylan, Lexi, McKenna, Dalton, Maverick, and Jarrett. Great grandchildren: Summer, Nathan, Corbin, Eli, Tatum, Keeli, and Ashlynn. Three sisters Sue Carey and husband Wendy, Carol Guess and husband Donald, Janice McFatridge and husband Ralph, and one brother Joel Paul Asbery along with several nieces and nephews.
As per his wishes there will only be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. Monday May 12, at Meadowbrook Cemetery with Mickey Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 until 7 at the residence in Brookston. Cremation arrangements were made by Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

Dorothy Jo Townes, 87, of Powderly, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in Paris. Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 10:30 AM, Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Lone Star Cemetery in Red River County with Rev. Don Shovan officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM. She was born August 11, 1926 in Red River County a daughter of James E. Hayes and Jennie M. Hayes. On November 27, 1943, Dorothy Jo Townes was happily married to Winifred H. Townes for 67 years until his death in January of 2011. Survivors include her sons, Don Townes and wife, Jan and Larry Townes and wife, Sandy; grandchildren, Cammie Winover and husband, Donnie, Kevin Townes and wife, Jan, Bryan Townes and wife, Anne, and Sean Townes and wife, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Dakota Townes, Dalton Townes, Tanner Townes, Savannah Townes, Mariah Townes, and Jozie Townes; a brother, Kenneth Hayes; and two sisters, Margaret Smith and Nella West.
