Billy H. “Bill” Ballard, 79, of Paris, was lifted safely into the arms of the Lord on Sunday morning, March 3, 2013.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 6th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Ballard, the son of Alva & Gladys Holbrook Ballard, was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Madill, OK.
He served in the National Guard at the age of seventeen. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Baking. His career with Rainbo Bread Companies spanned forty-two years before his retirement. He was a member of the Lazy 8’s V-8 Club. He loved the outdoors and old cars.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Dylan Ballard, a son-in-law, Larry Wilson and his sister, Sarah Grady.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Etta Spoon Ballard, whom he married on July 10, 1951, building sixty-one years of family and memories, a son, Ronnie Ballard & wife Vicki of Paris, a daughter, Patti Wilson of Blossom, three grandsons, Steven Wilson of Paris, Jeremy Wilson of Blossom and Matthew Allen of Paris, two brothers, Alva Ballard & wife Vi of West Chicago, IL and John Ballard & wife Carole of New Lenox, IL, along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Casket bearers will be: Jeremy Wilson, Steven Wilson, Matthew Allen, Henry Spoon, Bill Spoon & Doug Cato.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Dylan’s Drivers, 1455 20th NE Street, Paris, TX 75460.
